‘Windward Passage’ 65ft luxury trawler multiple voyages 2018-2019

Hobart to Brisbane March 2019

Really hard to pick a weather window this time so we quickly provisioned and headed for Pt Arthur for the night to wait out a front due at 2100. following a track which Ken and Megan had navigated weeks earlier we found a lovely sheltered anchorage. Up early and heading for Schouten Passage for another night sheltering before hopefully a clear run across the Strait and all the way home.

Small problem the following day when we discovered we had lost all our fresh water due to a pipe bursting off its fitting despite having 2 hose clamps. The remedy after fixing the offending pipe was to fire up the water maker and after a couple of attempts and a tightening of some bolts on the high pressure pump, we made over 1000 ltd of very potable fresh water. The rest of the delivery was seamless and again I thank Murray for his excellent assistance and companionship.

Brisbane to Hobart December 2018

Next adventure for Ken and Megan to cruise the beautiful coastline of Tassie. Estimate they will be there until end of February when we will bring her back north. As well as the now expected great crew work from Murray, we had a guest appearance on this voyage from Crewman Paul Clarke prior to his adventures in the Caribbean (hope we do see him again one day!

Noumea to Brisbane October 2018

On the return voyage we had almost ideal conditions so a quick shop, visit to immigration and top up with duty free fuel and Murray and I were off.

No problems at all with Ken and Megans’ great second home.

Brisbane to Noumea May 2018

Windward Passage was bought by Ken and Megan 4 years ago and they have spent a huge amount of time (and $$) to create a beautiful 5 star floating home to enable them to cruise the exotic beautiful waters of the Pacific in total comfort. This time New Caledonia, later this year Tasmania and plans in place for New Zealand to check out the Americas Cup in the future.

Just 5 days at 8 kts with Crewman Clarke with conditions a little bumpy but “bird” stabilisers which helped a lot whilst being used.

Looking forward to heading back to Noumea end of July to pick her up to return to Brisbane.
